Who We Are
As an American-Italian couple, it’s only fitting that our journey together began as a ‘typical’ study abroad story! We met back in the summer of 2015 with the help of a few mutual friends and after a sunset aperitivo, Danielle decided to invite herself on a trip that Anna was planning for the week after and well – the rest is history! With our mutual love for travel, we decided to seek new adventures any moment we could. From road-tripping through the vast landscapes of Australia to plunging into the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, we’ve chased experiences that celebrate the beauty of our diverse planet and the inclusivity of it’s people.
Why ‘Itsvabene’?
Although Danielle is fluent in Italian now, 8 years ago was a whole other story! That being said, we spoke a mix of English and Italian during that first summer we met. “It’s va bene” quickly became our favorite Italianish word – meaning “it’s okay” or “it’ll all be okay”. We loved our newly created word and it’s meaning so much that we got it tattooed on our wrists just a week later. Looking back at it, getting matching tattoos after just meeting each other was quite literally the most lesbian thing we’ve done to date!
Our Mission
As LGBTQ+ travelers, we understand that the world can be a diverse and sometimes challenging place for couples like us. We’ve encountered communities that warmly embrace us and others that have yet to catch up with the times. But one thing we’ve learned is that no matter where you come from or who you love, the desire to explore the world should never be stifled.
So join us as we continue to explore, learn, and love on the road less traveled. Together, we’ll break down barriers, inspire wanderlust, and show the world that love knows no borders. Whether it’s sharing our favorite destinations, providing travel tips, or highlighting LGBTQ+ friendly places, we’re here to guide you on your own travel journey! So, as we say in Italian – ANDIAMO!

Danielle Parlagreco
Co-Founder
Danielle is a Miami, Florida native who discovered her love for travel in high school when she embarked on a Euro trip with her best friend. After finishing university and getting her MBA, she decided to take a one-way flight to reunite with her love, Anna, in Italy and the rest is history! She’s the strategic mind behind Itsvabene, using her creative instinct and business skills to drive the success of the brand.
Anna Parlagreco
Co-Founder
Anna was born and raised in Rome, Italy and has been traveling the world ever since she can remember. She has always had a passion for flying, so at the age of 19 she went to America to get her pilots license. She is now one of Italy’s very few female helicopter pilots, flying search and rescue in the region of Tuscany. In her free time, she brainstorms ideas for Itsvabene and is the technical face behind our brand.
